Daniel Montoya Chávez, Engr.
Daniel Montoya graduated from the Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering program at UPB, currently serves as the Laboratory Manager and Instructor in Chemistry and Processes Laboratories, at the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture. His thesis focused on the synthesis and characterization of biodiesel from agricultural waste, conducted at the Center for Phytochemical Research (CIF). Has been in charge for the development of the experimental procedure for the production of absolute ethanol from potato peels at laboratory scale, for the 100k Strong in the Americas program in collaboration with Miami Dade College.
Currently, he’s engaged in research on the production of bioethanol from agro-industrial waste and actively collaborates on various projects at the CIF in biofuels, nutraceuticals, and natural antioxidants and colorants. He is deeply passionate about exploring bioproducts and enhancing the valorization of natural resources, with a strong commitment to environmental sustainability.
