Crispin Cholwe
Crispin Cholwe is a graduate student in the Agricultural and Biological Engineering Department at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign-USA. His research currently focuses on investigating the relationship between water infrastructure and the communities for which such has been built by Governments, Multinational Organizations or NGOs. Is there equal participation by the people? Through this research, he hopes to strengthen understanding of the relationship between people, place, and technology to afford non-industrialized nations throughout the world with improved food security in the face of Climate Change.
Crispin is familiar with higher education research, spanning from years of teaching at Chipata College of Education in Zambia. He is passionate about ecosystem protection in the wake of Climate Change. He has worked with Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA) in collaboration with Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI) and Southern African Development Cooperation Regional Environmental Education Programme (SADC-REEP) to implement Change Projects. He has also contributed to scholarly literature, having written a chapter for a UNESCO text entitled ESD in Teacher Education Institutions: Case Studies of Best Practices in Zambia (UNESCO, 2017) that details a course of study for art students to better understand ecosystem protection and impacts of Climate Change.
